So my boy Pompi is back on the scene with a new track called Packaging!! this song is straight fire - its an amazingly artistic and creative song which talks about how we as society place greater emphasis on the exterior ("packaging") appearance of a person than whats on the inside.
Matthew 15:11 - What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'"
Matthew 23:26 - You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.
Jesus placed a great amount of emphasis on our hearts because he knew that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Its amazing how even in church we focus on getting people's external appearances right before we even think of delving into their hearts. Jesus is more concerned with the state of our hearts than the external appearance. Wearing a suit to church every Sunday doesn't make me saved or holy.
Shout out to Pompi for challenging us with this beautiful peace of work.
also shout out to Seya for the amazing vocals too!!

HOPE-LESS CHURCH
For as long as I have been a Christian, All I have ever heard is people talking about reaching the lost and people having this false humility and compassion for people. But when I entered Christianity, i quickly found out that its really not what they say it is. I quickly found myself feeling "holier" than others and judging others for the lives they have chosen. I felt like I was much better than others. I was passionate about pursuing this holy life and becoming this super holy guy.........till I really got to know Jesus.
Mark 2:17 - On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
Sometimes I sit back and I really wonder what this whole christian thing is all about. Are we just supposed to sit back and try and become a better person until Jesus comes? or are we supposed to spread the love of God to those who really need Hope. This world is cold and cruel, and all people in this world are looking for is hope. Isn't that why we needed a messiah? Because even we, the Christians needed to be saved from the despair that we were living in. Jesus clearly shows me that he came for the "sick" and he came to call sinners. We say we want to reach the lost but our churches show the opposite. All you see these days is people trying to be clean whilst there are millions out there who need hope and we don't even take time to reach them and give them hope.Church growth is measured by numbers and not by the lives that are being brought to and transformed by Christ. I would rather have a church filled with messed up people because I know they are in the right place, than a place of empty "godly" people.
My life's ambition is to be like Dr. Jesus and reach the sick and hopeless so that they to can boldly declare that "by his stripes we were healed". Lets bring hope to the world not judgment and condemnation.

Gravity- The Weight of Life
Gravity has to be THE MOST ANTICIPATED (yeah I said it!!) christian hip hop album of all time. Its quite ironic considering Lecrae's philosophical shift from being labelled a christian rapper to a christian that raps. This was phenomenal in many ways because it really made many of us review our stance as a "Christians" in society. When I look at Jesus he was phenomenal in the way he loved sinners and non-believers but also met their needs. Jesus was not so concerned with the title but with the function that he had to carry out:
John 10: 37 Don't believe me unless I carry out my Father's work.
Matthew 20:28 - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
I love the approach that Lecrae has really taken with his recent projects, in the sense that he is focusing more on reaching (excuse the pun lol) the people and exposing the culture as a whole to the grace of God. Life is not easy and is very weighty and if Jesus failed to meet people's needs they would not have believed him as the Messiah. Truth is everything that we place above God always comes down and is never enough and when the Gravity of life comes down on you its not an easy place to be but Thank God we have a Messiah who was sent to release us from the captivity of life.
Cop this album to me its super dope!!! Time will tell if its a classic, BUT ITS STILL PHENOMENAL.
