Macky 2 doing his thing : While we play church

Man i wont lie if you have not heard of Macky 2, then you must live under a rock somewhere! This dude has undoubtedly made some major moves in the Zambian music scene.

Mostly known as  the bad boy of music, the well known artist is showing a different side to him, which i cannot help but thank God for. The emcee has recently set up a hope foundation that seeks to bring to hope to the nation.

John 21:17 - A third time he asked him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus said, "Then feed my sheep.

Jesus shows us that the way we show our love for God is by showing love for his people, and taking care of them.  Wish more of us would do this instead of just playing church, but really loving people and wanting to see them better off. Peep the video below if you dont feel me.

Why Do You Believe?

There is something about us as human beings, in that we find comfort in following what others believe. Truth be told it's less risky to believe what others believe, because if we were wrong then it would be far much better if other people went through it too. As they say misery loves company, so if I’m going down I want some other people to go down with me.

I remember one time I embarked on a 7 day fast and one of the biggest motivating factors was that other people were doing it with me. Others were also suffering with me, so that motivated me to continue on. But there comes a time where one has to stop being tossed to and fro by other people’s ideas and believe in something for themselves.

James  1:6
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Life isn’t easy, and it sure has its ways of bringing you down. However, one thing I have learnt is that it is in trials and tribulations that your belief in something is tested. The strength of something is only tested in the face of opposition. Sometimes, we have got to ask ourselves, why do we believe in what we believe?

Why do we believe in Jesus Christ? Do we believe because others believe or we believe that He is the risen King and because of him we are able to enjoy life and have it more abundantly?

Download: New Pompi - Packaging

So my boy Pompi is back on the scene with a new track called Packaging!! this song is straight fire - its an amazingly artistic and creative song which talks about how we as society place greater emphasis on the exterior ("packaging") appearance of a person than whats on the inside.

Matthew 15:11 - What goes into a man's mouth does not make him 'unclean,' but what comes out of his mouth, that is what makes him 'unclean.'"

Matthew 23:26 - You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.

Jesus placed a great amount of emphasis on our hearts because he knew that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Its amazing how even in church we focus on getting people's external appearances right before we even think of delving into their hearts. Jesus is more concerned with the state of our hearts than the external appearance. Wearing a suit to church every Sunday doesn't make me saved or holy.

Shout out to Pompi for challenging us with this beautiful peace of work.

also shout out to Seya for the amazing vocals too!!

HOPE-LESS CHURCH

For as long as I have been a Christian, All I have ever heard is people talking about reaching the lost and people having this false humility and compassion for people. But when I entered Christianity, i quickly found out that its really not what they say it is. I quickly found myself feeling "holier" than others and judging others for the lives they have chosen. I felt like I was much better than others. I was passionate about pursuing this holy life and becoming this super holy guy.........till I really got to know Jesus.

Mark 2:17 - On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Sometimes I sit back and I really wonder what this whole christian thing is all about. Are we just supposed to sit back and try and become a better person until Jesus comes? or are we supposed to spread the love of God to those who really need Hope. This world is cold and cruel, and all people in this world are looking for is hope. Isn't that why we needed a messiah? Because even we, the Christians needed to be saved from the despair that we were living in. Jesus clearly shows me that he came for the "sick" and he came to call sinners. We say we want to reach the lost but our churches show the opposite. All you see these days is people trying to be clean whilst there are millions out there who need hope and we don't even take time to reach them and give them hope.Church growth is measured by numbers and not by the lives that are being brought to and transformed by Christ. I would rather have a church filled with messed up people because I know they are in the right place, than a place of empty  "godly" people.

My life's ambition is to be like Dr. Jesus and reach the sick and hopeless so that they to can boldly declare that "by his stripes we were healed". Lets bring hope to the world not judgment and condemnation.

Gravity- The Weight of Life

Gravity has to be THE MOST ANTICIPATED (yeah I said it!!) christian hip hop album of all time. Its quite ironic considering Lecrae's philosophical shift from being labelled a christian rapper to a christian that raps. This was phenomenal in many ways because it really made many of us review our stance as a "Christians" in society. When I look at Jesus he was phenomenal in the way he loved sinners and non-believers but also met their needs. Jesus was not so concerned with the title but with the function that he had to carry out:

John 10: 37 Don't believe me unless I carry out my Father's work.

Matthew 20:28 - For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.

I love the approach that Lecrae has really taken with his recent projects, in the sense that he is focusing more on  reaching (excuse the pun lol)  the people and exposing the culture as a whole to the grace of God. Life is not easy and is very weighty and if Jesus failed to meet people's needs they would not have believed him as the Messiah. Truth is everything that we place above God always comes down and is never enough and when the Gravity of life comes down on you its not an easy place to be but Thank God we have a Messiah who was sent to release us from the captivity of life.

Cop this album to me its super dope!!! Time will tell if its a classic, BUT ITS STILL PHENOMENAL.

MUST WATCH: Does anybody know you are a Christian

Crazy thing is with facebook and all that now, we have taken the Gospel to a different level. Question is Do people think you are a christian because of your actions? or Do people think you are a Christian because you are acting??

Whats the Point of this?

Sometimes it feels like we are part of one big robot factory and my life is not what it is meant to be. Who am I? What am I here on earth for. I struggle with my identity because it seems like everyone has a say in who I am and who I should be, except me. It's as if life is one big illusion and I have to try and fit in or blend into the picture. My music tells me what kind of clothes to wear, what kind of life to live, how I should look at or treat the opposite sex. I feel pressured amongst my friends to try and be like them, I would do anything for them to like me and to not think that I am  a weirdo. But it seems like the more I try and make others accept me the more unhappy I become. I've done  it all, from the countless nights getting drunk out of my mind, to treating the opposite sex like a sport and bragging about how they like me, to buying all kinds of brands and clothing so that society would accept me. But none of it could make me happy.

This changed when I found Jesus and he became the center of my living and joy. I have come to realise that I was never created to fit in or to be like someone else. I was never created to be a replica or a carbon copy of something that already exists. When God made me he had a special plan for me because he loves me so much. He wanted the world to celebrate my uniqueness and love me for my difference.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God knows why I am I here, and as long as I live I dont want to try and be like other people.  I want to be like me, because there is no one better at being me.....than ME.

Perfection is a process

It is amazing how we think that other people's lives and that if only i could get to be like him or her then my life would be set. We all have our flaws and our weaknesses, but we unfortunately live in an environment which is vigilant and demeaning to people who show their weaknesses. Sometimes it feels like the world is caving in and what im so desperately trying to maintain is burning down in front of my very own eyes. The image of strength swiftly turns to weakness, vulnerability and insecurity.

But we are fortunate to have someone who loves us so much, whose furious love for us is what fueled his desire to pay the price that we should have paid. The death which we should have suffered he took for us on the cross. It's that love that drives me to know who he is and WHY he did it for me? Why me of all people? What did i do to deserve this kind of love.....NOTHING. He calls me closer everyday and tells me that he can fix everything that is wrong, and all I have to do is trust him and he will get me in the right shape...

So where do I have to go? He tells me that his workshop is in my heart and he will slowly start working on me because I am his masterpiece.

So where Am I at right now? I'm Glad you asked...I'm in his Garage.
